Gary was an absolute pleasure to work with and I walked away with far more than a standard jewelry appraisal. From start to finish, he took the time to thoroughly explain every step of the process, sharing his expertise in a way that was both engaging and incredibly informative.
The appraisal report itself is exceptionally detailed, fair, and provides a precise, thoughtful description of my engagement ring. Thanks to Gary’s diligence and care, I feel completely confident having my ring insured.
Beyond his expertise, Gary is genuinely kind, patient, and professional. I highly recommend Gary and Boston Gem Lab!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gary for an appraisal of a bracelet I got elsewhere. He’s a courteous professionals who guided me through the appraisal process with meticulous attention to detail and interesting stories.
He examined every facet of the bracelet, offering insights into its makeup and craftsmanship.
My experience with Gary was nothing short of exceptional.
I recently had the pleasure of having my pearls appraised by Gary Eber, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment I met him he demonstrated a high level of professionalism and expertise. Gary was incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain each step of the appraisal process and answer my questions. His depth of knowledge about pearls and gemstones is truly impressive, and it was clear that he is passionate about his work.
The detailed appraisal report I received was for my insurance company and it was comprehensive and well-written. It also gave me valuable insight into the quality and value of my pearls. I highly recommend Gary Eber to anyone in need of a trustworthy and knowledgeable appraiser. Thank you, Gary, for your exceptional service!
I stopped by Boston Gem Laboratory today for an engagement ring appraisal and couldn't have been more satisfied with the service. I wanted Mr. Eber to appraise my diamond for insurance, and to satisfy my paranoia. Mr. Eber made it a safe welcoming environment especially during COVID19. He only allows one appointment in at a time and has the neccessaties like disposable seat coverings, hand sanitizers, masks and disinfectant which is highly appreciative.
Mr. Eber was masterful at conveying details while examining my gemstone in a nonbiased way. He takes his time to explain each and every step while giving and showing examples. Most importantly he educated me about gemstones hence making me a more confident shopper of fine jewelry. Not to mention he makes a great conversationalist!
If you need an expert gemologist to appraise jewelry he is your man even if it is only for insurance purposes. If you are considering him for only an insurance appraisal he is very much worth the few extra bucks than a chain jewelers' appraisal. His document is very well detail that it helps gives you bargaining power in the unfortunate event of needing to file a claim. Notewithstanding, the immersive experience of learning about your gemstone within that hour or so is worth it
My significant other and I were shopping for "the ring" and found an antique one we liked and was in our budget. To make sure it was worth the $3,000 we were spending, we verified the shop's return policy and then sought out an independent (i.e., not affiliated with a jewelry shop) appraisal at BGL. We're insanely lucky that we did--Gary at BGL noted that based on the poor cut of the diamond, the ring was worth maybe 1/3 of what we had paid for it! He was also great at providing information on the era of the ring and cut of the diamond.
We sent this ring back and got a refund, so hopefully we can get a ring we love and that will retain its value.
